When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being, I see a friend. I feel a soul.

The Core Values Behind Peaceful Shores
Dr. Kennedy runs her practice based on key core values. She always wants to ensure that all people who have beloved pets have a way to gently, compassionately, and safely usher their pet through the end-of-life process. Above all else, she wants to help relieve the pain and suffering felt by humans and pets alike.
The values she holds dear and that guide her in her work are:
Compassion is at the core of all Peaceful Shores work. Dr. Kennedy meets people during one of their toughest points and she brings her whole heart and a deep well of compassion to her service. Hospice and/or euthanasia care helps relieve suffering and pain and compassion is required to achieve that state.
Integrity is vital. Dr. Kennedy will always be honest, open, and transparent when addressing the decisions and care needs for your pet. Her word is her honor and she strives to live and work within the highest level of integrity.
Timeliness is a sign of respect. The situation is already stressful and Dr. Kennedy never wants to add to it. She will always be on time if it is within her power to do so. She also will not “rush” the process. She provides the space and time for you, your pet, and your family to process and say goodbye as you want and need.
Kindness and gentleness are required to ensure some comfort can be found in this difficult time. The aim is to make the process as gentle and pain free as possible for your pet.
Unobtrusive helping means that Dr. Kennedy is there, watching, responding as needed, but allowing the process to unfold without rushing or pushing. She’ll keep you informed, but also step back and allow you to have those precious final moments that both you and your pet need.
Inclusivity sits as the foundation of all that happens within Peaceful Shores Veterinary Hospice. Dr. Kennedy strongly feels that all people deserve respect, kindness, equal treatment, and consideration. The only criteria for working with Dr. Kennedy is that there is a beloved pet in need and humans who love them.
Peaceful Shores Services
In-Home Veterinary Hospice
The initial hospice consult visit is all about determining the comfort and well being of your beloved pet. Dr. Kennedy will do a physical exam and address any immediate issues; then she will sit with the family, as a team, to discuss how things are going.
In-Home Veterinary Euthanasia
This is one of the hardest decisions you will make in your pet’s life. Allowing your pet to experience the transition smoothly and peacefully in their own home can make a big difference — and not just for the pet.
