Transportation & Cremation Service
It is important to think ahead about what you might like to do with your pet’s remains after your pet has passed.
Some people prefer to make arrangements on their own, while others prefer Dr. Kennedy to help manage the arrangements and transportation of their pet’s remains to a local crematorium of your choice.
There Are Two Crematoriums From Which To Choose:
Pawsitive Memories, Sandwich, MA
A crematorium with an innovative and ecologically friendly water-based method called “aquamation.” The staff are kind, compassionate and professional. Visit their site to learn more or view their beautiful urns and memorial items sourced from local Cape artisans.
Final Gift, Middleboro, MA
Located at Angel View Memorial Pet Cemetery and Crematory, Final Gift is a traditional crematorium with a long-standing and excellent reputation that has served the area’s pets for many years. Visit their site to view their lovely urns and memorial items.
Choosing a Cremation Service
There are two options from which to choose:
1) Communal Cremation: This is a general cremation with no return of ashes.
2) Individual Cremation: Your pet’s ashes will be returned to you.
How Individual Cremation works:
- For a $30 fee, the Crematorium will return your pet’s ashes directly to you via the U.S. Postal Service. This process generally takes 1-2 weeks to complete.
- You have the option to pick up the ashes yourself, removing the additional $30 fee. The Crematorium will call you directly when your pet’s ashes are ready.
PLEASE NOTE:
- If you decide to have Dr. Kennedy arrange to take your pet’s remains, please be advised she will need assistance putting larger pets in the vehicle. Please let her know ahead of time if you are unable to help so she may bring an assistant. (This may involve an extra fee).
- If you choose to have Dr. Kennedy help you with your pet’s remains, you’ll pay the cremation fee, the $30 delivery fee (if you choose it), along with the euthanasia fee — all in one payment — at the time of service. This keeps it as simple and easy as possible for you.
- Once Dr. Kennedy drops your pet’s remains to the Crematorium, she is no longer responsible or involved with your pet’s remains. The Crematorium is the contact for any information about your pet’s remains and ashes.

Peaceful Shores Services
In-Home Veterinary Hospice
The initial hospice consult visit is all about determining the comfort and well being of your beloved pet. Dr. Kennedy will do a physical exam and address any immediate issues; then she will sit with the family, as a team, to discuss how things are going.
In-Home Veterinary Euthanasia
This is one of the hardest decisions you will make in your pet’s life. Allowing your pet to experience the transition smoothly and peacefully in their own home can make a big difference — and not just for the pet.
