Hospice Consultation & Care
Eliminate fear and relieve stress.
Determining if it’s time to turn to veterinary hospice for your pet doesn’t have to be a stress-filled decision. Dr. Kennedy is here to help you determine if it is the right time — and ensure your pet gets the treatment and care they need right now.
There are a couple simple steps that will help get things started. You will …
1) Fill out the Quality of Life (QoL) survey which will help you objectively determine if it’s time to consider hospice care and/or euthanasia. Dr. Kennedy is committed to ensuring your pet’s comfort and quality of life are where they need to be.
2) Schedule a hospice evaluation visit. This visit is all about determining the comfort and well being of your beloved pet. At this in-home visit, Dr. Kennedy will conduct a physical exam and address any immediate issues.
What We’ll Talk About
Once the steps above are complete, Dr. Kennedy will sit down with the family — and as a team — will discuss how things are going using the QoL survey as a guide. The conversation will address key issues, concerns, and questions. This will help you, your family, and Dr. Kennedy determine the best plan to provide the care and comfort your beloved companion deserves.
Some of the issues that will be addressed are …
- How well your pet is getting around
- How easily the pet has access to where they use the bathroom
- Appetite and diet
- Pain control
- Other issues of comfort
You’ll also establish best points of contact with the Doctor so you’ll know best how and when you need to get a hold of her for any questions or concerns going forward.

In-Home Veterinary Hospice
The initial hospice consult visit is all about determining the comfort and well being of your beloved pet. Dr. Kennedy will do a physical exam and address any immediate issues; then she will sit with the family, as a team, to discuss how things are going.
In-Home Veterinary Euthanasia
This is one of the hardest decisions you will make in your pet’s life. Allowing your pet to experience the transition smoothly and peacefully in their own home can make a big difference — and not just for the pet.
